Cuando todo parece ser diferente * When all seems to be different

A few weeks ago I thought I would be some where else, under other circumstances... but life is always changing and some way it sended me back to my mother nation sooner than I expected.

Now, back in Santiago, I'm full of new projects, new objectives and experiences that I'd never thougth I would reach so early in my life. It's quite impressive how life plans unbelievable things just like that... with the same mood that plants have to grow and rivers to flow.

I'm very happy of letting my self go with the impulse and I hope it will keep on moving hand by hand with this blog that I created with so much love... I think I'll have to re-do an agenda with you guys, because I can't leave you all so abandoned for so long!! hahaha

big kisses and have a plenty-of-nice-surprises-MARCH.

Cooking tips!

Last weekend I was with my family and we made a huge mistake!
We wanted to make a nice natural shrimps sauce and in stead of boiling the entire shrimps to use their flavor, we added just a part. If you make such a mistake, here you have a good tip to bring the flavor on!

I really don't know the science behind this, but we just added some pieces of onion and cooked (low fire) 5 minutes, the result was shrimps sauce!!! I really have to say... the onion for some reason helped to bring back to life all that mess we where doing and it tasted great!!!

So once again as we all know, there's always a way to save your dinner.
I will try to repeat it on purpose to see if I have the same result...
any experts to give me a real reason why does it works?

The blogger I've chosen to be

Now that I've had time to think about me, the blog, you guys (the whole blogging thing)... I would like to talk about this idea I want to come true:

I would love to make this blog 100% made by "Giraffe" in matters of design, images and stories... I just want the process to be natural and I'm telling you because I believe it's like pushing myself to the next step.

After all, I made this blog because I really wanted to share things I love about life and now that I've started, I figured out that there's so many stories that have to be tell, that really worth it and they are just across the street.

Looking closer I'm sure that we'll always find something as special and as unique as a cover of Vogue or the looks we found in a magazine. It's just we need to discover those things and I believe that with this blog I will push my self to look after it... Because we all deserve to know about the beautiful thing of the world, no matter how far we are.

I'd like to let you all know about what surrounds me because you never know... some day you will show me something I didn't expected and not even dreamed about!

Isn't it beautiful? Shearing experiences so we all are able to enjoy the same things, places or who knows what?... dishes? hahaha I'm enjoying this process so much!

Hope I'll find stories that make you smile... And also hope you will come to Chile and see the beautiful natural wonders that this country have for all of us. Also now that I'm starting my next journey, I'll look after more things to show and more experiences to share.

I love to be a blogger!!

Cup of wine for Sunset

First days in 2011: nothing better for an amazing year than a good start.
The magical lake of Caburgua in the south of Chile was the perfect place to rest, meditate and plan whats going to happen this next 12 months of my life. Here everything is a good plan, a walk near the beach, a cup of wine or renting a kayak for a day.

Next time here I will definitely go to one of those special trips to the top of the Caburgua Volcano that's constantly calling me down here!!

2010 - One of a kind

This year has been EXTREME in every way. Actually, quite shocking!
From icon lost in fashion world to earthquakes and social changes, this period makes me think of how life can change from one day to an other and to constantly push your self to stand out. So I think it deserves a special count down made with a Chilean view, to learn and think about it:

The tragical death of Lee Alexander McQueen

Earthquakes affect Haiti and Chile
Political changes in Chile with new president Sebastian Piñera
Icelandic volcano cancelled most of lights in Europe for almost one week
Fashion icon Carine Roitfeld leaves French Vogue after 10 years of duty
The nations of Latin America celebrated 200 years of independence
Argentinian musician Gustavo Cerati in "coma"
Corinne Day looses her fight against cancer
Worst ecological disaster, oil spill in Mexican Gulf
Incredible rescue of the 33 miners trapped 69 days underground in Copiapo, Chile
Tragical fire in San Gabriel's hail,  Chile
Icelandic volcano cancelled most of lights in Europe for almost one week
Rare sinkholes around the world
The controversial case of Julian Assange and Wikileaks

Lago d'Iseo, Italy

In my opinion, more than a beautiful place it seems almost like a unexplored land for tourists... and that's just amazing. I went there to have a look at the very ends of August, when some people has returned to Milano but not enough to feel that vibrating energy so usual of it, so I had to run away.
I've got to say that just one day there is perfect to have a first look of that side in people from North Italy that usually you don't see on other very known lakes like Como, Maggiore or Garda.

My advice? Rent a bicycle (if you can't bring your own) and take the boat to the island in the center of the lake... you will never forget it. There's always something to see in this lake, like a extraordinary second hand design shop with some exotic kitsch nice things.
